ISLE OF WIGHT WEATHER

Please note that all outside links will tile over this page. The Island has it's own 'special' climate and weather conditions. We get affected by sea breezes, so the National forecast may well not apply at various flying sites here.  You will often find that the wind direction can vary significantly from site to site.

NEW: MESSAGING SYSTEM FOR WEATHER REPORTS !!!

Rather than texting and calling round to let your friends know the weather conditions at a particular site, you can use this FREE voicemail service....
It works just like your mobile phone voicemail service (because it is a mobile phone!!!)
Please follow the instructions when you get to a site, and leave a message for your fellow pilots so they can dial in.

Dial  07787843999 and follow the instructions.

TO PICK UP MESSAGES:  Dial 9 during the outgoing message, and then enter the PIN. You can listen to messages left by other pilots.
This is completely open system, and is based on trust, so please don't mess around with settings or outgoing messages.

TO LEAVE A WEATHER MESSAGE: Wait for the outgoing message to play, and just leave a voicemail as you would for any answerphone.

Please make sure you leave the DATE, TIME, SITE, YOUR NAME and of course the CONDITIONS.
